Privacy impact assessment register
The Tax Ombudsman undertakes privacy impact assessments for all high privacy risk projects. A project may be considered a ‘high privacy risk project’ if the Tax Ombudsman reasonably considers that:
“…the project involves any new or changed ways of handling personal information that are likely to have a significant impact on the privacy of individuals.”
The Australian Government Agencies Privacy Code requires the Tax Ombudsman to maintain a register of privacy impact assessments conducted since 1 July 2018. A version of our register is provided below:
